Aramis is very particular in his choice of friends. Even after more than a decade of living together I cannot predict whether he will like a dog or not. When he decides to make friends, however, his loyalty is unmatched, his benevolence unconditional and his dedication timeless.
One of Aramis’ recent friends is also his oldest acquaintance to date. Nikita is a Sheepdog cross and a very sweet old lady of 14 years at the time of writing.
With Valentine’s Day approaching, it only seemed fitting to dedicate this shooting to their fondness for each other. So here’s a shameless and somewhat kitschy celebration of the emotions that love can generate.
The picture above is possibly my favourite out of these. I like the happiness on Nikita’s face, Aramis’ careful and tender approach, how their colours and their white markings match as well as how the whole scene fits into a square, giving the image a coherent, harmonious appearance.
